This Sacred central Tour will take you deep into the heart of Central Bhutan, till Bumthang valley. You will trave crossing the three high mountains passes: Dochula at 3100m, Pelela at 3300m and Yotongla, the highest at 3400m. It is also known as the ‘land of the peaceful dragon’. The highlight of tour will be visits to Simtokha Dzong within the tiny capital township of Thimpu and the Taktsang Monastery, which is Bhutan’s most famous monastery that clings to a sheer 3,000 foot rock face cliffs. where temples, monasteries and retreats of great importance house many sacred images and relics and we also visit Bhutan’s national museum, a fascinating place housed in an old watchtower above the huge Paro Dzong (monastery/fortress). The museum holds a fantastic collection of Bhutanese national treasures ranging from ancient armour to textiles and thangkha paintings. After then we drive to Yotong La Pass at 3425 meters and slowly descend to Zungney passing through fir, blue pine and bamboo forests and reach Jakar. It leads to the beautiful valley of Bhumtang. The valley is wide and open with an elevation variation from 2,600 to 4,000 meter. Actually four valleys in Bhumtang – Chumney, Choekhor, Tang and Ura – offer dramatically different experience. It is believed that Buddhism spread wide in Bhutan from this valley. Besides these destinations, we also include highlights such as a visit to the Gangtey valley to spot the black-necked crane. This rare bird is an endangered species which migrates in winter from the plateau of Tibet and Siberia.
