Ghorepani Poon hill trek is a short trek that is suitable for anyone with a fair degree of fitness but limited time. It can be offered at any time of the year and as it reaches an altitude of just 3210m. Poon hill, there is no chance of altitude-related problems.This Ghorepani poon hill circuit trek begins in the central city of Pokhara from to Nayapul for the start of the trek. The first day is fairly easy, taking you through bamboo forests and terraced farmland. The second day is longer and a bit more strenuous as you climb through dense forests of rhododendron, oak and maple to the prosperous village of Ghorepani and day three walk begins with a short stiff climb up Poon Hill for 360o sunrise views of the Annapurna Range and the southern plains towards India.

Trek offers the spectacular mountain scenery along with charming villages inhabited particularly by the Gurungs & Pun, dense rhododendron forests full of birds and deep sub-tropical valleys, views of the high peaks from ridge-villages and has particularly good views of Annapurna South, all set below the Annapurna with the picturesque peak of Machhapuchhare (Fishtail Peak) dominating the skyline. The first attraction of the whole Ghorepani excursion where you can see fabulous views of Himalayan snow-capped mountains in 360 degree landscape with sunrise over Dhaulagiri (8,167m) and Annapurna (8,091m) along with a maze of other peaks, there gradually appear, just like magic that your eye could not believe.

Day 02: Preparation of the trek, explore the town
Day 03: Drive / Fly to Pokhara [820M / 2690FT], transfer to Hotel
Day 04: Drive to Nayapul [1070M / 3510FT] by private vehicle, start trek to Tikhedhunga [1540M / 5052FT]
Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani [2860M / 9383FT]
Day 06: Hike to Poon Hill [3210M / 10,531FT] early morning for sunrise viewing over Himalayan peaks and back to tea house, have breakfast, trek to Tadapani [2590M / 8497FT]
Day 07: Trek to Ghandruk [1940M / 6364FT]; the brave ‘Gurkha village’
Day 08: Trek to Nayapul [1070M / 3510FT], drive to Pokhara [1070M / 3510FT] by private vehicle
Day 09: Drive / Fly to Kathmandu [1300M / 4665FT]
