Upper Dolpo and Jomsom Treking

Jomsom Muktinath trekking is situated in the district of Mustang and is about 18 km north east of Jomsom at an altitude of 3,749m.Jomsom Muktinath trek is one of the easiest trekking route suitable for beginners to experienced trekkers.Starting from Pokhara we ascend the Annapurna foothills through picturesque Gurung villages and continue through lichen-draped rhododendron forest where you may enjoy in the natural hot spring. After you enjoy natural hot spring in Tatopani, this trek gradually goes on to climb Poon Hill at dawn for spectacular views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges. Later we will trek up the deepest valley in the world situated between two Himalayan giants, Dhaulagiri (8,167m/26,788ft.) and Annapurna (8,091m/26,538ft.). As we trek up the Kali Gandaki valley we pass though the traditional and prosperous villages of Tukuche, Ghasa, Marpha and Jomsom. The Thakalis, a traditional traders, have converted their charming and wonderfully clean homes into trekkers’ lodges and are well known as one of the most gracious and successful inn-keepers in Nepal. In Muktinath you see Tibetan traders and sadhus (holy men) from as far away as the south of India. Here you visit Muktinath temple, shrines of different god and goddess, enjoy wonderful mountain views,springs and natural gas spot.Past Jomsom we reach the arid Tibet-like landscape of Mustang.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu [1300M / 4665FT], transfer to Hotel
Day 02: Preparation of the trek, explore the town
Day 03: Fly or Drive to Pokhara [820M / 2690FT], transfer to Hotel
Day 04: Drive to Nayapul [1070M / 3510FT] by private vehicle, start trek to Tikhedhunga [1540M / 5052FT]
Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani [2860M / 9383FT]
Day 06: Hike to Poon Hill [3210M / 10,531FT] early morning for sunrise viewing over Himalayan peaks and back to tea house, have breakfast, trek to Tatopani [1190M / 3904FT] [You can take natural hot spring bath in Tatopani. Nepali word Tatopani symbolizes Hot Water.]
Day 07: Trek to Ghasa [2010M / 6594FT]
Day 08: Trek to Tukuche [2590M / 8497FT]
Day 09: Trek to Kagbeni [2800M / 9186FT] via Marpha [2670M / 8759FT] and Jomsom [2700M / 8858FT]
Day 10: Trek to Muktinath [3800M / 12,467FT], explore the town and temples, monasteries around
Day 11: Trek back to Jomsom [2700M / 8858FT]
Day 12: Fly to Pokhara [820M / 2690FT], transfer to the Hotel
Day 13: Drive / Fly to Kathmandu [1300M / 4665FT]
Day 14: Departure or extend your trip
